Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement sets out the steps Storage Feltham has taken, and is continuing to take, to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our business operations and supply chains. Storage Feltham is committed to conducting business ethically, with integrity and respect for human rights, and to improving our practices to combat modern slavery in all its forms.
Our Zero-Tolerance Policy
Storage Feltham has a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and any form of exploitation. We expect the same high standards from all our employees, contractors, suppliers, and any third parties acting on our behalf. Any confirmed breach of this policy is treated as a serious misconduct issue and may result in the termination of contracts or working relationships, alongside any other appropriate remedial actions.
We recognise that modern slavery can occur in many ways, including servitude, compulsory labour, debt bondage, and deceptive recruitment practices. Our commitment extends to opposing these practices wherever they may arise, and we aim to ensure that our business activities do not contribute to or benefit from such abuses.
Our Business and Supply Chain
Storage Feltham operates storage and related services, engaging with a range of suppliers including facility management, security services, cleaning, maintenance, equipment provision, and professional services. While we consider our sector to be at relatively low risk of modern slavery, we acknowledge that risks may exist, particularly in extended and global supply chains, and we are proactive in addressing them.
We are committed to building long-term, responsible relationships with suppliers who share our values and who can demonstrate robust approaches to labour standards, health and safety, and human rights.
Supplier Standards and Audits
To support our zero-tolerance stance, we are strengthening our procurement and supplier management processes. We are integrating modern slavery due diligence into supplier selection and onboarding, including the expectation that suppliers comply with all applicable labour and human rights legislation and maintain safe and fair working conditions.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with our standards. These audits may include reviewing policies, training records, right-to-work checks, and subcontracting arrangements. We prioritise audits for suppliers operating in higher-risk sectors or regions, or where we have reduced visibility over labour practices. If issues are identified, we work with suppliers on corrective action plans and monitor progress. Serious or repeated non-compliance may result in suspension or termination of the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Storage Feltham encourages open communication and expects employees, workers, and partners to speak up if they have concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical practices. Concerns can be raised through internal reporting channels, including line managers, senior management, or designated compliance contacts. Reports can be made in confidence, and all concerns are taken seriously and investigated where appropriate.
We are committed to protecting individuals who raise concerns in good faith from retaliation or detrimental treatment. We also expect our suppliers to maintain their own mechanisms for workers to report grievances safely and to ensure those concerns are appropriately investigated and resolved.
Training and Awareness
We are developing training and guidance for relevant employees, particularly those involved in procurement, supplier management, and facilities operations. This training is designed to increase awareness of modern slavery risks, indicators of exploitation, and the steps to take if concerns arise. We will periodically review and update training materials to reflect evolving best practice and regulatory expectations.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing our approach to modern slavery rests with Storage Feltham senior management, who monitor compliance with this statement and review the effectiveness of our controls. We track progress on our initiatives, including supplier audits, training completion, and any reported concerns or incidents.
This statement will be reviewed at least annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business, legal requirements, and best practice guidance. As part of the annual review, we will assess the effectiveness of our due diligence, consider feedback from stakeholders, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement has been approved by the leadership of Storage Feltham and is made available to employees, suppliers, and other interested parties.
